Shooting star Maayan Licht has been captivating audiences since December 7, 2024, in the title role of Xerxes in Handel’s opera of the same name at the Staatstheater Oldenburg. Directed by Kay Link and under the musical direction of Thomas Bönisch, Xerxes will be performed six more times in Oldenburg until February 22, 2025. A revival of Xerxes is planned for June 2025, with three additional performances and, of course, Maayan Licht in the title role.

The young male soprano, exclusively represented by Parnassus Arts Productions, achieved tremendous success at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival 2024 as Achilles in the new production of Ifigenia in Aulide (opera by N. Porpora), directed by Max Emanuel Cencic and conducted by Christophe Rousset. Another spectacular opera production featuring Maayan Licht in the title role is still running: Here, I’m Orlando (opera by Lubica Cekovska) at the National Theatre Brno. The final two performances of Here, I’m Orlando, staged by Jiri Herman and conducted by Robert Kruzik with Maayan Licht as Orlando, are scheduled for December 22, 2024, and January 5, 2025, in Brno.

Maayan Licht performed a highly acclaimed solo concert on December 15, 2024, at Kunstklang Feuchtwangen and will appear as a soloist on December 27, 2024, at Orfeo Universitari in Valencia.

Maayan will debut on the main stage of the Musiktheater an der Wien on May 6, 2025. In March 2025, Maayan will make his role debut as Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro). In May 2025, Maayan will perform at the SWR Festival Schwetzingen and make his debut in Cremona in June 2025.
